Back in February we wrote (vented) about the issue of recruiting skilled student developers in the UK. Start-ups are crying out for this talent, but yet the appetite for these roles appears to be on the wane and all too often the top talent is vacuumed up by the banks and other mega-corps such as Google and Microsoft. But start-ups are fighting back…
Led by the guys over at Songkick, the tech community in East London that resides in Shoreditch have launched a recruitment campaign cunningly called Silicon Milkroundabout (get it!?) to lure graduate talent away from the city. With London’s start-up tech scene currently sizzling we think this is a well-timed initiative. As a tech start-up ourselves and a job site set-up to connect start ups and SMEs with top talent from UK universities for students jobs, we fully back this idea! Indeed we regularly write about the advantages of working at a small company.
Who’s going to be there?
30 of London’s best known technology startups, including Songkick, Mind Candy, GroupSpaces, Editd, Skimlinks, Playfire, Huddle, OneFineStay and Smarkets. These start-ups hope to highlight the opportunities and benefits of working for innovative, entrepreneurial businesses.
Nice. So when does it all kick off?
