Job Description
We are looking for an entrepreneurial student in this city, to launch and run a local deals website, aimed at students.
TipToken works by offering a deal on the website each week in each area. The deal is usually for a product or service supplied by a local company at a discount. The deal is negotiated on the basis of a group discount, i.e. if 20 people buy from this shop can they get money off the purchase. A counter on the website shows how many people have bought the deal at any point. Once the required number of people have bought the deal it ‘Tips’ - everyone who has bought the deal is emailed a ‘Token’, and their cards are charged for the purchase.
The platform also enables the straightforward collection of money for events held at your university. Organisers of a university social event could easily place the details on the website and collect money from attendees up front. The organiser would be able to set a minimum number of attendees required for the event to go ahead. If the minimum number is not met then no money is collected.

Candidates should demonstrate that they have ideas about how the business should be run, and are willing to take decisions based on them. We are looking for entrepreneurial students who can take this model into the student market. In doing so they will be free to change the type of thing they offer, commission rates, marketing techniques and style of the business. What would work in your university?
