What’s Shoppe Tales:
Shoppe Tales celebrates entrepreneurship by helping small businesses increase their product exposure to drive more sales. Shoppe Tales is made up of programmers and social media buffs who have a deep passion to help independent businesses succeed. Shoppe Tales will be lauching its site in Jan 2011.
Social Media Intern – The Role:
This position would be the perfect role for a social media savvy undergraduate or recent graduate with a relevant degree in Journalism, PR, Media or Marketing, looking for their first commercial role.
As a Social Media Intern, you will be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, work closely on and manage the Shoppe Tales’s social media accounts on a daily basis, including Facebook, Twitter, and other Blogs.
You will also help to create, plan, and deliver Shoppe Tales’s social media strategy.You will ensure social media sites are constantly updated and post useful and interesting information to engage existing and potential Shoppe Tales's members.
If you've got fire in your belly and have demonstrated your ability/capability, we will do what we can to help you make your internship worthwhile!
Internships are available to start in Jan 2011, dates are flexible (start date each month). We ask for a minimum committment of 8 weeks although longer internships are preferable. We can also be flexible with hours and days of the week (minimum 3 days per week to fit around studies or other paid work you may have).
Required Skills and Traits:
Strong knowledge of MS Office
Fluency in English is essential (written and oral)
You must be a self-starter
Have a keen interest in technology, marketing and/or entrepreneurism
Ability to multi-task
Manage projects independently
Innovative and creative
Driven and goal-oriented
Have passion for social media and a desire to build a career in social media
Have a flare for writing for the web and are able to demonstrate strong social media experience
Confident using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
