Website Review - Rebel Youth Clothing

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you would have noticed that today’s student generation are rebelling. And some might say with good reason given all the issues concerning young people today – from education department cuts and tuition fees, to a lack of job opportunities. Throw in the potent force of online communications (Facebook and BBM) and it becomes clear that today’s youth are more than willing to openly express their feelings. Rebel Youth Clothing (RYC) hopes to capitalise on this growing discontent with a range of cool, outspoken and humorous t-shirts.

Rebel Youth Clothing – A Sign of the Times

In their own words
Rebel Youth Clothing launched in September, 2011 and is a clothing company from London. The company was started as a creative outlet for two friends to share their ideas. Our mutual love for music, fashion and having fun brought us together and ultimately inspired us to create Rebel Youth Clothing. Our choices of designs are influenced by youth culture both past and present. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer and thank you for your support. Keep smiling and stay positive.

Who’s behind it?
The founders are the same team behind FreelanceStudents the student jobs site. Yep, it’s us guys. The site is being led by Tim Mukasa, the founder of FreelanceStudents. Having been heavily involved in the student market over the last few years, Tim noticed that students were starting to express themselves more openly and thought that t-shirts would be a “fun and light” way to convey these feelings. Initially, the site will launch with a selection of men’s t-shirts, but there are plans to expand the range.

Why we like it
Well, we would like it, seeing as it’s out idea. However, honestly, we believe it’s timely, good natured in its intent, offers a cool selection of hard-to-find t-shirts, and is also very reasonably priced; most t-shirts generally cost a very affordable £16.

If FreelanceStudents were a dragon, we would ask…
Usually, with these reviews, we would raise a concern or query in this segment. But, for obvious reasons, this wouldn’t work so well in this situation, so instead we’re going to let you guys be the judge. Tell us what you think about the site and idea? Let us know your thoughts below.
