Education technology companies are notorious for not thinking of the users. At Knodium we strive to learn everything we can about their behaviours, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. We spend time immersed in the education sector gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a small team working to make a big impact in education by creating innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use.

The Role: User Experience Design Intern

As an Intern with us you'll have the opportunity to work in an early stage, funded startup. You will be working within a small team helping to develop innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. You must have a good design sense, a strong technical background and an eye for making things better. You will get to meet and engage with our network of users and educators to gain insight and feedback.

Responsibilities:

• Help to define the user model and user interface for new products and features.
• Develop high-level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Gauge the usability of existing prototypes and make constructive suggestions for change.

Requirements:

• Experience in at least two of the following: HTML, JavaScript, CSS
• Strong, clean visual design sense.
• Strong technical background is a plus.
• Solid analytical thinker with excellent communication skills
• A design portfolio that demonstrates solid knowledge of web design principles.
