Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job
Working as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team to initiate the concept, design and development of new products within low energy technologies, as well as being responsible for the implementing, testing and on-going support of electronic products.
Detailed Duties of the Job
- Generating concepts, presenting and communicating ideas
- Detailed engineering design
- Using analogue and Digital design including PCB layout
- After training; using embedded C programming for Microcontrollers
- Design for manufacture, including selecting manufacturing methods and materials
- Creating bills of materials, parts lists and working to minimise cost
- Testing and problem solving design features on the electronic product features.
- Documenting installation, servicing, and maintenance regimes
- Reviewing standards to create design guidelines
- Visiting customer sites and commissioning products on site
- Project management of assigned projects/work packages
