Job Description
Transcription Agency based in Pinner requires an advanced IT student to assist the owner on site in transferring software packages from Windows XP to Windows 7 onto a newly purchased computer, currently running in parallel with the current system.
Your task will be to get the new system up and running and then train the owner of the business in effective use of the new Word software, including setting up customised tool bars. The range of packages used in the business includes specialised transcription software such as Start Stop and encrypted file transfer systems such as FileZilla - many of which also need the latest updates pre-installed. Interpersonal skills and your ability to impart knowledge to others are just as important as your IT skills, because of the training aspect.
For the right person this could eventually develop into a remote ‘trouble shooting’ role longer term.
Remuneration will be £14 per hour and we are envisaging a one or two day placement during normal working hours in August. We are located 5 minutes walk from Pinner Underground station on the Metropolitan line.
