Job Description
The Digital Communications Team manages all Barnardo's websites and digital marketing including social media, search marketing and email marketing. We work with teams across the organisation including Children's Services, Fundraising and the Policy and Research Unit to support campaigns and promote Barnardo's brand online.
The Digital Communications Intern would work within New Media to carry out tasks and research to help develop Barnardo's websites and digital marketing campaigns. The role will include assisting with web content editing, search engine optimisation and social media work as part of the Barnardo's New Media team.
Key activities:
Web content editing:
Editing text to provide clear, concise and easy to scan web content using our web content management system
Liaising with content authors to ensure content is both compelling and accurate.
Ensuring content on the Barnardo's websites meets brand and style guidelines.
Formatting images for the web
Search marketing:
search engine optimisation for Barnardo's project microsites
Social media:
Helping to implement social media plans
Ad hoc duties:
Competitor research
To assist in day to day activities within the department
