Closing Date: August 13th, 2011
Job Description
The Project
Volunteer abroad in Peru and spend time teaching local Peruvian children within a public school setting. With only 4 teachers working to provide a solid education to children from very poor families, this school hosts up to 33 students aged between 4 and 7 years old. The students come to the school for morning educational classes and as well as receiving lessons, they are also given a nutritious lunch ensuring that they are having at least one good feed a day.
Why the project needs you
For the local children to thrive in Peru, they need all the educational and cultural benefits as possible, and international volunteers can provide this. Contact with cultures outside of their own, helps the children to improve their English, widen their knowledge of the world and provides them with invaluable tools which will help to set them apart going forward. The project needs additional help and support from volunteers to ease the workload of the local teachers and to provide additional ideas and assistance to the children.
