Company background:
HipSnip is a personal shopping application to get product advice and recommendations. Share what you’re shopping for and connect with friends for opinion, or get recommendations from our expert community.
We are a young company based in the Shoreditch / Tech City area, and have already attracted industry recognition for our product, most recently reaching the finals of Ericsson’s global application awards.
We are growing quickly and now looking to establish a development team.
Salary and opportunity:
The chance to make significant contributions to the early product development of an exciting new service.
£1,000pcm for a 3-6 month placement, with an opportunity to be offered a full time developer role at the end of the position.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
The role (dependant on skills):
- Building mobile and desktop web applications using HTML / CSS / JavaScript
- Packaging our web app using PhoneGap and Chrome extensions
- Writing and running integration tests using Selenium
- Developing our backend API using PHP and MongoDB
- Collecting and analysing logs collected from user activity
Non-commercial experience is fine but you must show us prior examples of your work. Above all, a learning disposition is vital: you must always be keen to learn, and intelligence is key.
Useful experience and skills:
Familiarity with any of the following would be great:
- jQuery
- node.js
- SASS/SCSS
- PHP
- Zend Framework
- CSS Media queries
- Phonegap
- Android or iOS development
- MySQL
- MongoDB
- Selenium RC
