Job Description
Barnardo’s Pathway Volunteer internship scheme offers a 13 week voluntary placement which runs in one of Barnardo's offices, children’s services or a Barnardo’s retail outlet. We have opportunities available at our Head Office in London and across the country.
Our internship scheme has been "Highly Commended" by the National Council for Work Experience
We offer a variety of placements including:
•Fundraising Marketing
•Policy, Parliamentary and Campaigns
•Events
•Brand and New Media
•and much more.
Barnardo's Pathway Volunteer scheme will give you the opportunity to develop your existing skills as well as gain new ones and vital work experience at one of the UK’s leading children’s charities!
Each Pathway Volunteer role description has been created to accommodate the needs of the volunteer as well as provide support to the team.
Pathway Volunteer interns will be offered:
•travel expenses to and from Barnardo's and up to £4 for lunch
•CV/application writing and interview skills training
•access to the Barnardo's internal vacancy list
•supervision and support throughout the volunteer internship
•reference on completion of the volunteer internship
To apply to be a Pathway Volunteer intern you need to be:
•aged 18-25
•available to volunteer for 3 months
•studying for A-levels, equivalent or higher
•IT literate
•committed to Barnardo's basis and values
Next intake, spring 2011: 7th March – 27th May
