Job Description
Area Now is a new short-notice event recommendation service specialised on all relevant things going out happening around you - in street level detail.
Area Now is created by an international Shoreditch-based team of music fans, dancing freaks, club promoters, label managers, music producers and DJs. Serving nightlife is our mission.
We are looking for smart, entrepreneurial intern candidates with a positive attitude who are willed to make a direct impact on the content of Area Now. We want to help you getting a boost to the stars, if that is what you want. It definitely is where we’re heading.
We are currently offering one Internship position to join our content management team.
Hours are flexible, although ideally we are looking for a minimum of 12 hours per week with travel and lunch expenses partly paid. This is an unpaid internship, working for an exciting project, gaining invaluable experience. And even working from home is possible.
Start as soon as possible, but if you get in touch we might have some placements in summer too.
Consider this as an exciting, mutual trial course and if all goes well we’d love to talk with you about future career perspectives.
- You will help add and manage the content of Area Now - the best club nights & gigs in London and the UK. You have strong attention to detail. You want the best.
- You know Facebook and Twitter like your local pub and know how to keep a fan-base interested and grow it organically
- You have the confidence to connect and interact with others in an online environment
- Ideally you might manage our social media sites, write posts and media releases
- You might write editorial blog content related to Area Now activities, clubs & nightlife
- You might support us in public relations and copy-writing, so English mother tongue, good writing and literacy skills are more than a plus
- You might assist us in booking for, organising and promoting our own club events
- You are self motivated, have a ‘can do’ attitude and are able to make us laugh
- Expertise in London’s club & nightlife scene, love for music and knowledge about other UK nightlife capitals a plus
This is a brilliant opportunity to gain work experience within the creative and inspiring environment of a music related technology company and the exciting world of night clubs and the live industry. It is quite likely you may meet your favourite DJs and acts on a professional basis, or at least get into your favourite club events for free. You will be integral in helping our users to have a great night out.
