Job Description

HiddenCity is a new way to experience cities in the UK: an instant treasure hunt by text message. Can you help us by writing engaging online content and marketing our service? If so we’d love to hear from you.

This position is ideal if you are interested in a wide and varied role in an exciting start-up company. The position is open to graduates, and we’ll consider summer internships.

  • Flexible working location with occasional meetings in central London.
  • £80 per day (£60/day for internships)

Check out our website to find out what we are about. You’ll be joining a friendly team of four and be playing a key role in the company. Your responsibilities will include:

  • PR: Working with press, magazines and event companies to promote HiddenCity
  • Marketing: Writing exceptional online content, developing intelligent email campaigns and tracking metrics to identify the performance of campaigns
  • Sales: Managing sales enquiries from corporate customers

If you’re the right person you’ll have a combination of academic qualifications, skills (both creative and analytical) and personal attributes:

Academic qualifications

  • You have (or are expecting to achieve) a 2:1 degree or higher in a creative or business discipline (eg Marketing, Communications, Journalism or English)

Skills

  • You are both creative and analytical
  • You can write creatively and in an informal tone (your response to this ad should exemplify this!)
  • You have an analytical mind
  • You have a fantastic telephone manner

Personal attributes

  • You are fun and enthusiastic
  • You are driven by clear goals and targets
  • You are keen to get involved with a start-up company
  • You are ambitious
  • You are exceptionally proactive
  • You are happy to help out with other areas in the company, especially hosting events

You’ll be able to conduct the majority of your work where ever you have access to a computer. You should have easy access to central London for team meetings.

Selection will be in two stages:

  • Stage 1: A 30 min telephone interview
  • Stage 2: A 1 hour face-to-face meeting in central London.

To apply send your CV and covering note to Rob by using the response form for this ad. In the covering note:

1. In an informal writing style, describe in no more than 250 words why you are suitable for the role.
2. State your degree and class (eg 2:1).
3. Include a reference to an article that you have written that exemplifies your informal writing style (attach the article if you do not have an online reference)

To be considered you must provide all three items above!
