Job Description

HAQP Ltd is a small web development firm looking to recruit a part-time back-end developer to help out with various projects and tasks for its clients. The candidate must be highly flexible, organised, responsible, able to work independently, take initiative and work to deadlines. If you require detailed instructions on how to complete a particular task, this job is not for you. We are looking for someone who can think outside the box and come up with solutions independently. The candidate will be working with and reporting to our lead developer.

While the candidate will be expected to primarily work from home, the company’s main client base is in London so proximity to London would be a plus as the candidate may be required to attend meetings.

Requirements:

-          Flexible, organised and able to take initiative and learn new things

-          Good demonstrable working knowledge of PHP and mySQL

-          Able to hand-code standards compliant XHTML

-          Good working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, FTP etc

-          At least 1 year relevant professional experience

-          Own laptop, mobile phone and reliable internet connection

Desirable - knowledge/experience of any of the following is a plus:

-          Linux/Win based server administration

-          AJAX/JavaScript

-          MSSQL

-          Microsoft Dynamics NAV

-          SQL optimisation

-          Graphic design for web (Photoshop/Flash)

-          PHP based CMSs

Salary will be £12 - £20 per hour depending on skills and experience. The number of hours the candidate works and when those are completed is negotiable but the candidate would be expected to work a bare minimum of 20 hours per week. Since a lot of the work is project based with varying workload, flexibility is a must. For the right candidate this role offers significant room to grow and take on more responsibilities after an initial trial period.

Ideally the candidate will invoice HAQP Ltd directly for his/her services, however should the candidate wish to be employed this can be arranged but is subject to a lower hourly rate.

If you think you have what it takes please send a covering letter, CV and examples of your work ASAP as we are looking to fill this post sooner rather than later.
